The first consideration when discussing a pre-hung unit is handing. "Hand" is the word used to describe the direction the door will swing when hung. If you stand facing a door on the side where the door swings towards you the hinges are in front of you right hand, this is a right hand unit, if the hinges are in front of your left hand, this is a left hand unit. see examples of both are shown below
